It's Indian week! We have new dishes!

How exciting is that!  Indian week and some new dishes to try.  It simply doesn't get any better!  We have a new appetizer, two new main dishes and a new dessert.  So many choices, so little time!  As tasty as the aloo tikki is, I have to try the tandoori jhinga.  I can't do lamb based on principle, so that means the lamb dhansak is a no-go for me.  I mean, those cute fluffy little creatures were just jumping around a field.  So, I will have the murgh makhani instead.  And for afters, it has to be the kalakand with chai-spiced tea.  Perfect!  Okay, I know what I'm having.  How about you?

Can you tell that this is my very favourite menu rotation out of all the ones we do?  I simply love Indian food and Chef Bond always does a fantastic job with this cuisine.  Even if you prefer less hot and spicy, there is still something here for you.  The sangria is still flowing, but we also have a great selection of wines and beers.  Don't forget to ask about our cocktails or finish your meal off with a specialty coffee.

McGill's is THE spot to be this week.  As always, you can join us three nights - Thursday, Friday and Saturday from 5.00pm until 8.00pm.  However, on Saturday, come dressed up in your scariest Halloween costume and join us upstairs after your supper in The Junkyard Lounge for our annual Halloween party.  Tickets are only $5 per person.  Doors open at 8.30pm.

All our dishes are freshly prepared, but the wait is definitely worth it!  Come in and try some of our Indian cuisine.  You will not be disappointed.  Give us a call on (902) 681-3225 and let us reserve a table for you.  Relaxed dining in an intimate atmosphere.  You'll find us at 18 Kentucky Court, New Minas.  We'd love to have you join us.

Here is what we have to offer you this week:

Appetizer:

Aloo Tikki
Fried potato cakes with garam masala and served with a sweet chilli sauce

Tandoori Jhinga
Tiger shrimp marinated in a bouquet of Indian spices and barbecued, served with crisp romaine and lemon

Main Course:

Murgh Makhani (Chicken Tikka in creamed fresh tomatoes)
Boneless, skinless chicken thighs marinated overnight then roasted, tossed in a rich creamy tomato sauce finished with a swirl of butter.  Served with pilau rice

Lamb tenderloin sautéed with Indian spices and then simmered in a sweet broth infused with butternut squash and lentils.  Served with hot poori bread

Aloo Gobi
A mildly-spiced vegetarian dish.  Slow-roasted cauliflower and potatoes simmered in a mild curry sauce.  Served with a side of naan bread

Dessert:

Kalakand
Condensed milk and ricotta cheese simmered over a low flame and then chilled, sprinkled with fresh crushed cardamom, served with a side of fresh house-made Indian chai-spiced tea

Gulab Jamum
Small spongy cake balls simmered and soaked in a rich rose water and cardamom-infused syrup, served warm

As always, our evening menu is available for you to choose from alongside our tantalizing Indian menu.
