A culinary tour of Sicily, Rome, Palermo, Calabria...who could ask for anything more!


When in Italy, do as the Italians...eat! This is what I plan to do this weekend and I would love it if you would join me in savouring the delicious flavours from various regions throughout Italy.

We are open Thursday and Friday evening from 5:30 to 7:30. Give me a call and it would be my pleasure to put a table aside for you.

Here is what we will be featuring this week; however, do not forget that we also offer our regular menu too...

Appetizer:

Bruschetta
Grilled olive oil brushed Italian bread, with fresh tomato concasse mixed with garlic, basil, and olive oil, then topped with Grana Padano parmesan

Minestra Maritata
Small Italian meatballs simmered in a rich chicken broth with fresh spinach and orzo pasta, finished with an egg liaison and topped with fresh parmesan cheese

Main Course:

Scaloppine di pollo con crema di spinaci
Lightly breaded Chicken scaloppini topped with a spinach cream, buttered peppered pasta, and grilled tomatoes with balsamic vinegar and sea salt

Pappardelle alio olio pomodoro
Pappardelle egg pasta tossed with a toasted garlic tomato pomodoro, fresh basil and mozzarella

Egg e spinaci tonnarelli con il nostro prosciutto miele chipotle vetro, piselli e funghi selezionati in una crema al burro
Egg and spinach tonnarelli with our chipotle honey glazed ham, green peas and select mushrooms in a buttered cream. Topped with grated Grana Padano parmesan

We loved it so much we want to do it all over again...


Our first attempt at Indian fare was so well received that we want to do it again this week...come tantilize your taste buds with some of the best ethnic fare around...Don’t forget though that we always have our regular menu available.

Appetizers

Mulligatawny Soup
Known as “Pepper Water”. Exotic spices with tamarind, lemon juice, coconut milk, red lentils, vegetables and fresh cilantro

Aloo tikki
Fried potato cakes with garam masala and served with a sweet chilli sauce

Main Course

Chicken Korma
A full flavoured and mildly spiced curry with tender chicken morsels, roasted cauliflower and pilau rice

Beef Madras
Diced beef shoulder simmered in our own hot madras curry, served with pilau rice and cool raita sauce

Aloo Gobi
A vegetarian dish of curried potato and cauliflower with a blend of spices served with naan bread

Dessert

Gulab Jamun
Spongy milk balls served in a delicate syrup

Rasmalai
House-made panner cheese curd, shaped and boiled in a sugar syrup, then finished in a cardamon milk broth with sliced almonds and pistachio

Ah the warm waters of the Mediterranean...


During these snowy and cold days I imagine myself laying on the white pristine beaches of the mediterranean...then I come back to reality and realize that I am still in the snow...I have a great alternative in mind though, Mediterranean week at McGill's Restaurant.



This Thursday and Friday evening you need to come in and take a break from the weather!! Call me for reservations at 681-3225.

Here is our menu for this week...

Appetizer:

Dolmades – Short-grain rice and fresh herbs wrapped in tender grape leaves and simmered gently in a flavorful chicken broth. Served with tzatziki.

Caesar Salad – Crisp romaine, shaved Grana Padano parmesan, pancetta, rosemary garlic sour dough croutons & our very own garlic, anchovy, and parmesan vinaigrette

Main Course:

Olive oil poached Halibut with fennel & tomatoes - served with forbidden rice and seasonal vegetables

Spanakopita – Spinach, onions, and feta cheese wrapped in flaky phyllo pastry. Served with rosemary aioli and a salad of baby greens
Beef Tenderloin with a Monaco-styled pommery mustard, red wine, & crème fraiche sauce – this dish is prepared medium rare and accompanied by Chateau pototoes and select vegetables

Dessert:


Baklava – Baked layers of butter drenched phyllo pastry with spices and chopped nuts. Then when still warm, soaked in a honey –lemon syrup

Chocolate Pate - the finest dark cocao Barry Guaygauil chocolate, heavy cream, & amber rum accompanied by a classic crème anglais.

Prepared medium rare and accompanied by Chateau potato and select vegetables

Thyme Ricotta Strudel
Fresh ricotta cheese with thyme and toasted almonds wrapped in puff pastry and baked until golden brown. Accompanied by a tomato olive oil coulis, chick pea confit, and seasonal vegetables

Es el momento de visitar México!!

Everyone needs a little bit of spice added to their life once in a while...get yours this Thursday and Friday night with our Mexican themed menu!!

Locally, really good Mexican food, can be hard to find, but not anymore!

Below you will be able to see the dishes that we have prepared to shake up your evening...we haven't left you mild diners out either...there is greatness available to satisfy all palettes.

Appetizer

Shrimp and scallop posole
Canarón y Vieira ponzole

Crisp tri-colour corn tortilla chips served with our fresh salsa and guacamole
Crujiente de tres colores tortillas de maíz servidas con salsa fresca y guacamole

Main Course

Chicken in a mole sauce, corn pudding and toasted garlic rice with lime and chilis
El pollo en una salsa de mole pudín de maíz, y arroz tostado de ajo con limón y chile

Tostadas topped with black beans, roasted tomatillo sauce, fresh guacamole, shredded lettuce and Monterey Jack cheese

Two soft beef tacos with pico de gallo and aged cheddar cheese, Mexican confetti and corn pudding
