We're heading to the Med this week!

With spring definitely underway here finally, we don't need to dream of vacationing in the Med any longer.  I, for one, love the unveiling of all the seasons, but I must say Mother Nature kept spring tightly veiled until this past week.  It's awesome to see life coming back to nature.  And people!  In case you haven't guessed it, we're offering you the Mediterranean menu this week.  This is one of the healthiest diets to follow and is indeed make-you-feel-good food.  With an excellent wine list, bottled beer and Garrison's beer on tap, McGill's is set to make your dining experience a memorable and enjoyable one.  Ask one of our waitstaff for a cocktail.  Or a specialty coffee, which ends a fantastic meal quite nicely.

This menu is offered on Thursday, Friday and Saturday evening from 5.00pm until

Appetizer:

Roasted Red Pepper Hummus $11 

This classic, smoky dip is accented with tahini.  Served with grilled pita points

Dolmades $11
Short-grain rice and fresh herbs wrapped in tender grape leaves and simmered gently in a flavourful chicken broth.  Served with tzatziki

Main Course:

McGill's Mezze Platter $16
A sampling of spanakopita, tabouli, roasted red pepper hummus, tzatziki, kalamata olives, feta cheese and warm pita

Chicken Marrakesh $19

Lightly braised chicken, sweet bell peppers and garbanzo beans with an earthy Moroccan spice blend in a flavourful chicken stock.  Served with saffron and toasted almond couscous and finished with Greek yogurt

Mahi Mahi $25

Pan-seared Mahi Mahi rubbed with olive oil and topped with a pineapple and mango salsa.  Presented with a gathering of seasonal vegetables and couscous 

Dessert:

Fox Hill Farms Pistachio Gelato $8
Served with a crisp sesame cookie

Baklava $8
Crisp, butter-drenched phyllo pastry layered with spices and chopped pecans; then, when still warm, soaked in a honey-lemon syrup. Presented with a dollop of whipped cream
