Bring on the April showers! And the Italian menu!

Who else is ready for April showers rather than the other "s" word?  We have truly had our fair share of winter this year, compacted into a couple of months.  I am ready for a little rainfall.  And it is so nice to have more daylight hours!  Clearly, we are still in need of comfort (Have you seen the size of some of the potholes emerging already?!), which is why McGill's is bringing you the Italian-themed menu this week.  Let the Caprese salad take you away to evenings spent on the deck or patio, enjoying outdoor living once again!  Throw in your beverage of choice and your escape is complete.  McGill's has got you covered with your choice of beverage as we have an excellent wine list, Garrison beer on tap as well as domestic and imported beers.  Fancy a cocktail?  We can do that too.  Finish the perfect meal off with a specialty coffee.

Appetizer:

Italian Wedding Soup $9
Small Italian meatballs simmered in a rich chicken broth with fresh spinach and orzo pasta, finished with an egg liaison.  Topped with fresh Parmesan cheese

Caprese Salad $11
Sliced Roma tomatoes layered with fresh mozzarella and basil.  Drizzled with extra-virgin olive oil and a balsamic reduction

Feature:
 
Sally's Gnocchi di Formaggio $16
Gorgonzola, Romano and Swiss cheese blended together for a very rich cheese sauce, tossed with house-made fresh gnocchi.  Topped with grated Parmesan cheese

Main Course:

Spaghettini Bolognaise $15
Tiramisu
Fresh-made egg pasta tossed in a tomato/turkey-based meat sauce.  Topped with Parmigianino-Reggiano cheese

Cappellacci con la zucca $16
House-made ravioli filled with roasted butternut sqush and ricotta cheese.  Finished in sweet butter and toasted pine nuts

Dessert:

Tiramisu $8
Lady fingers bathed in Amaretto and espresso, layered with rich Zabaglione marsala cream.  Topped with whipped cream and sprinkled in cocoa powder

Fox Hill Chocolate Gelato $8
With house-made biscotti
