Mexican Fiesta at McGill's!

It's party time Mexican-style this week!  This is becoming one of my favourite menus.  And we have a new dessert to offer you this week - Mexican Fried Ice Cream!  Doesn't that just sound heavenly?  I'm looking forward to trying that.  It's a tough choice as far as the appetizers and mains go, but whatever your choice, it'll be a good one.  It looks like Friday is supposed to be a nice day.  Best take advantage of the last few evenings we have to enjoy on the patio.
 
We are giving you the opportunity to share this dining experience with us on Thursday, Friday and Saturday evenings from 5.00pm until 8.00pm.  Spicy, but not overly so, and flavourful dishes await you.  You will not be disappointed, I guarantee it.  Always freshly prepared, our cuisine will have you coming back for more and eagerly anticipating Mexican week each time it rolls around.

Here is what we have to offer you this week:

Appetizer

Stuffed Grilled Jalapenos
Whole Jalapeno peppers, stuffed with cheese, bacon and salsa, grilled, served with sour cream

Shrimp and Scallop Posole
Medallions of scallops, and shrimp, simmered in a light broth, finished with fresh cilantro
 
Salsa & Guac
Quad-coloured corn tortilla chips, served with house-made salsa cruda, and fresh guacamole

Main Course

Beef Tacos
Two soft tortillas, grilled and filled with seasoned slow braised beef, topped with salsa cruda, and aged cheddar cheese and shredded lettuce, served with a side of sour cream

Vegetarian Tostadas
Grilled flour tortilla with black beans, roasted tomatillo sauce, fresh guacamole, shredded lettuce and Monterey Jack cheese, served with Mexican corn salad 

Chicken Quesadillas
Tender shredded chicken, salsa cruda and spices, all sautéed together, and topped with Monterey Jack cheese and shredded romaine, baked between flour tortillas, served with sour cream, guacamole and Mexican corn salad

Dessert

Mexican Fried Ice Cream
Slow-churned vanilla ice cream, rolled in cinnamon sugar and corn flakes, flash-fried golden, served with caramel sauce and chocolate drizzle in a crispy tortilla
 
Mexican Churros
Light and fluffy Spanish dough, fried golden, and tossed in cinnamon and sugar, served with hot chocolate for dipping
