Some like it hot!

Ahhh, Indian week--I love it!  Did you know that India produces more spices than any other country in the world?  Sometimes a tiny bit is just enough.  And our amazing Chef has produced yet another new appetizer, Seared Scallops, which sounds heavenly.  And remember you can enjoy this spicy (some dishes not so) cuisine three nights this week, as always - Thursday, Friday and Saturday from 5.00pm until 8.00pm.  All our dishes are freshly prepared, but the wait is definitely worth it!

Here is what we have to offer you this week:

Appetizer:

Aloo Tikki
Fried potato cakes with garam masala and served with a sweet chilli sauce

Seared Scallops
Blackened seasoned scallops, in a carrot mango reduction, and crisp pancetta

Main Course:

Chicken Korma
A full flavoured and mildly spiced curry with tender chicken morsels, roasted cauliflower and pilau rice

Beef Madras
Diced beef shoulder simmered in our own hot madras curry, served with pilau rice and cool raita sauce

Dakshin Marinated Salmon
Salmon pan-seared in aromatic Indian spices, served with forbidden rice and Chef's select seasonal vegetables

Dessert:

Mango Mousse Tart
Heavy cream, folded into a sweet mango purée, set with gelatine, and served in a flaky tart shell, served with fresh fruit and crème anglaise

Indian Creamy Rice Pudding
Simmered low and slow on the stove top, making the rice and milk meld together in a comforting creaminess, finished with a hint of rose water and chopped cashews for a gentle sweetness

Dinner for two on the Mediterranean seaside?

Table's all set, dinner is served!  Isn't this just perfect?  With the temperatures we're having, this picture doesn't have to be the Mediterranean seaside.  But that's where we're taking you this week.  I love this menu - the food is not heavy and makes you feel good.  Of course it does, the Mediterranean diet is one of the healthiest.  (It also includes wine so that makes it even better.)

Appetizer:

Dolmades
Short-grain rice and fresh herbs wrapped in tender grape leaves and simmered gently in a flavourful chicken broth.  Served with tzatziki

Tabbouleh
Bulger wheat tossed with fresh tomatoes, onions, herbs and a light honey-lemon dressing

Main Course:

Lamb Souvlaki
Large pieces of lamb marinated in olive oil, lemon juice and oregano, then skewered and grilled on our char broiler.  Served with tzatziki and pita bread and wilted spinach with olives

Spanakopita
Spinach, onions, and feta cheese wrapped in flaky phyllo pastry. Served with rosemary aioli and a salad of baby greens

Chicken Marrakech

Sweet bell peppers, and garbanzo beans with an earthy Moroccan spice blend served with a fresh grilled chicken breast.  Served over saffron and toasted almond couscous and finished with Greek yogurt

Dessert:

Baklava

Baked layers of butter-drenched phyllo pastry with spices and chopped nuts.  Then, when still warm, soaked in a honey-lemon syrup

Pistachio Ice Cream
Rich pistachio crème glace served with a crisp sesame cookie

Grab your sombreros!

We're heating things up this week with our Mexican menu!  This is definitely one of my favourite weeks.  And we have some new dishes for you to try, which is always exciting.  Are you brave enough to try the bacon-wrapped stuffed jalapenos?  How about chicken quesadillas?  And to top it off, I'm thinking crème brûlée.  Perfect!  That's me sorted.  What are you having?  I think the weather will be perfect for dining on the patio too.

We are giving you the opportunity to share this dining experience with us on Thursday, Friday and Saturday evenings from 5.00pm until 8.00pm.  Spicy, but not overly so, and flavourful dishes await you.  You will not be disappointed, I guarantee it.  Always freshly prepared, our cuisine will have you coming back for more and eagerly anticipating Mexican week each time it rolls around.

Shrimp and Scallop Posole
Medallions of scallops and shrimp, simmered in a light broth, finished with fresh cilantro
Salsa & Guac
Quad-colour corn tortilla chips, house-made salsa cruda, and fresh guacamole
Bacon-wrapped Stuffed Jalapenos
Jalapeno peppers, split and stuffed with cheese and salsa verde, wrapped in bacon and grilled, served with sour cream 

Main Course


Beef Taco
Slow braised beef, seasoned with authentic Mexican spices, piled onto two flour tortillas, topped with salsa and aged cheddar cheese

Vegetarian Tostadas
Grilled flour tortilla with black beans, roasted tomatillo sauce, fresh guacamole, shredded lettuce and Monterey Jack cheese and side corn pudding

Chicken Quesadillas
Tender shredded chicken, salsa cruda and spices all sautéed together, and topped with Monterey Jack cheese and shredded romaine, baked between flour tortillas, served with sour cream, guacamole and Mexican corn salad


Dessert

Chocolate-Ancho Crème Brûlée
Rich dark Cacao Barry chocolate, married with spicy ancho pepper, blended into smooth creamy custard, and brûléed.  The heat of the ancho and the sweetness of the chocolate make this dessert perfect!

Mexican Churros
Light and fluffy Spanish dough, fried golden, and tossed in cinnamon and sugar, served with hot chocolate for dipping

Welcome to July and Italian week!  Rich and creamy pasta dishes, fresh bread, flavourful cheeses and fine wine (mmmm, wine!!) are all awaiting you this week.  Satisfy your craving for comfort food and sample some of our Italian cuisine available right here in New Minas.  All of our dishes are freshly prepared, but we can assure you the wait is definitely worth it!

Appetizer:

Caprese Salad
Thinly sliced roma tomatoes married with fresh mozzarella and basil.  Drizzled with extra-virgin olive oil

Bruschetta 
Grilled olive oil brushed Italian bread, with fresh tomato mixed with garlic, basil and olive oil, then topped with Parmigianino reggiano cheese

Main Course:

Spaghettini con sugo Carne de Pomodoro
Spaghettini topped with a zesty pork and beef tomato ragù, and fresh grated Parmigianino reggiano cheese

Seared Pork Medallions in Marsala-Mushroom Sauce
Fresh pork medallions, pan seared golden brown accompanied by a rich cream sauce, enriched with sweet marsala wine and sautéed mushrooms, served over a bed of fresh made fettuccine noodles

Straw and Hay
Egg and spinach tonnarelli with our chipotle honey glazed ham, green peas and mushrooms in a buttered cream.  Topped with grated Parmigianino reggiano cheese (This can also be offered as a vegetarian dish.)

Dessert:

Tiramisu
Layers of house-made lady fingers drizzled in Amaretto liquor, between rich Zabaglione marsala cream, topped with whipped cream and spinkled in cocoa powder

Red Grape, Polenta & Olive Oil Cake
Italian inspired, fluffy in texture and scattered with sweet red grapes for sweetness.  With the added richness of olive oil, this cake is a great end to an Italian dinner.
