Let's visit the Taj Mahal this week!



It's my favourite week again.  That's right, Indian!  I love the smell of Indian food being prepared.  And this week, we're pleased to tell you that we have some new dishes to tantalize your tastebuds.  Thank you, Chef Daniel!  And remember you can enjoy this spicy cuisine three nights this week, as always - Thursday, Friday and Saturday from 5.00pm until 8.00pm.  All our dishes are freshly prepared, but the wait is definitely worth it!

Appetizer:

Fried Prawns
Tiger Shrimp, marinated in Indian spices and tamarind, battered and fried, served on top of baby greens with Makhni sauce

Tomato Shania Shorba
A traditional Indian soup, made with vine-ripened tomatoes, spring onions and fresh cilantro, finished with a hint of cream

Main Course:

Chicken Korma
A full flavoured and mildly spiced curry with tender chicken morsels, roasted cauliflower and pilau rice

Beef Madras
Diced beef shoulder simmered in our own hot madras curry, served with pilau rice and cool raita sauce

Dakshin Marinated Salmon
Salmon seared in aromatice spices and cooked in a curry sauce that is enriched with coconut milk, served with forbidden rice and local asparagus

Dessert:

Mango Mousse Tart
Heavy cream, folded into a sweet mango purée, set with gelatine, and served in a flaky tart shell, served with fresh fruit and crème anglaise

Indian Creamy Rice Pudding
Simmered low and slow on the stove top, making the rice and milk meld together in a comforting creaminess, finished with a hint of rose water and chopped chashews for a gentle sweetness

Pack your bags! We're off to the Med!

This is my hide-away this week.  What a view, eh?  Just look at the colour of that water!  I think I'll sit here for a while and let time pass me by.  I've got my bottle of red wine so I'm good.  :-)

Appetizer:

Zucchini Keftedes
Pan-fried zucchini and feta cheese fritters topped with Mediterranean yogurt and fresh dill

Saganaki
Pan-seared Greek cheese, flambéed back of house and finished with a squeeze of fresh lemon juice, and plated with a spicy tomato glaze

Main Course:

Chicken Souvlaki
Tender chicken breast marinated in olive oil, lemon juice and oregano, then skewered and grilled on our char broiler.  Served with a yogurt garlic sauce and wilted spinach with olives

Spanakopita
Spinach, onions, and feta cheese wrapped in flaky phyllo pastry. Served with rosemary aioli and a salad of baby greens

Roasted European Sea Bass

Local, farm raised European sea bass, roasted and topped with a tomato and olive salad. Served with saffron and toasted almond couscous and Chef’s select vegetables

Dessert:


Galaktoboureko

Divine combination of creamy custard and flaky phyllo dough that is baked to golden perfection then drenched with a lemon and orange infused syrup

Pistachio Ice Cream
Rich pistachio crème glace served with a crisp sesame cookie

Mexico, here we come!

Ok, I confess, I remember learning the Mexican Hat Dance when I was little.  I can even still here the music.  But don't ask me to remember the steps. 

Yes, you guessed it . . . we're featuring our Mexican menu this week.  Spicy, but not overly so, and flavourful dishes await you.  You will not be disappointed, I guarantee it.  Always freshly prepared, our cuisine will have you coming back for more and eagerly anticipating Mexican week each time it rolls around.

It's the beginning of a new month so that means . . . yup, you guessed it . . . Italian week!  Woohoo!  (Do they say that in Italy?)  When I think of Italian food, I think of comfort food at its very best.  And McGill's can serve you some of the finest Italian cuisine you will find anywhere in the Valley.  All of our dishes are freshly prepared, but we can assure you the wait is definitely worth it!

Calamari alla menta
Fresh calamari, marinated with egg yolks and cream, dredged in bread crumb and lightly fried.  Topped with fresh lemon and mint

Main Course:

Spaghettini con sugo Carne de Pomodoro
Spaghettini topped with a zesty pork and beef tomato ragù

Piccatine al Limone e Capperi
Chicken breast in a light crumb, fried with capers and fresh lemon juice, served with sautéed spinach with shallots

Cappellacci con la zucca
House-made ravioli filled with roasted butternut squash and ricotta cheese.  Finished in sweet butter with fresh sage

Tiramisu
Charlotte of Tiramisu, with a rich marsala wine zabaglione, espresso drenched ladyfingers, and splashed with amaretto

Bavavese al ciocciato bianco, nocciola con de lampino
