Dreaming of a villa on the Indian coast . . .

Seriously, who wants to be here?  Isn't that just perfect?  I could quite happily spend a week or two on this patio.  Or more.  Temperatures are warming up but spring certainly seems to be taking its time.

While most of us are not fortunate enough to be setting off on a beautiful holiday in Mauritius, McGill's is bringing us a taste of India this week.  I've said it before and I'll say it again . . . this is my most favourite menu rotation.  There are varying degrees of heat with some dishes being very mildly spiced.  But remember, you can always request that the kitchen staff kick it up a notch or two for you.  Whatever you do, just leave room for dessert!  You really need to try the mango mousse tart.  It'll have you coming back each month.

All our dishes are freshly prepared, but the wait is definitely worth it!  Come in and try some of our Indian cuisine.  You will not be disappointed.  Give us a call on (902) 681-3225 and let us reserve a table for you.  Reservations are encouraged.  This is relaxed dining in an intimate atmosphere.  And remember to check us out in the Scoops magazine distributed in your flyers.  You'll find us at 18 Kentucky Court, New Minas.  We'd love to have you join us.

Here is what we have to offer you this week:

Appetizer:

Aloo Tikki
Fried potato cakes with garam masala.  Served with a sweet chili sauce

Mulligatawny Soup
Exotic spices with tamarind, lemon juice, coconut milk, red lentils, vegetables and fresh cilantro

Heavy cream folded into a sweet mango pureé and served in a flaky tart shell.  Served with fresh fruit and crème anglaise

McGill's is taking us to the Med for some warm weather!

Since spring, officially here, still feels like a ways off, I thought I would bring you some light at the end of the tunnel this week.  Who wishes they were here?  I'm ready to spend some time on that Albanian beach.  We can all dream, right?

McGill's is doing its best this week to bring us a taste of the Med.  This cuisine reminds me of leisurely evening dinners in the summer.  On the patio.  With a glass of wine.  Informal and relaxed.  Perfect.  Ok, it may still be too cold for the patio, but it's coming.  I love the nature of these dishes, so light and flavourful.  And I can assure you that the Bavarian mousse, pictured here, is just as light and dreamy as it looks.  Perfect ending to a great evening's dining at McGill's.

As always, this menu is offered on Thursday, Friday and Saturday evenings from 5.00pm until 8.00pm.  Fine dining in a relaxed and intimate atmosphere.  Give us a call on (902) 681-3225 and let us reserve a table for you.  We are located at 18 Kentucky Court, New Minas.  And remember, our cuisine is always freshly prepared and well worth the wait.

Hola, Mexico!

Yes, we are off to Mexico this week at McGill's.  Some people are actually lucky enough to be in Mexico, but I bet you our cuisine is just as good, if not better.  Chef Bond, you better not let me down!

This menu is becoming increasingly popular, and I must confess it is a firm favourite of mine as well.  I can recommend everything on the menu personally.  With a choice of three appetizers, three mains and three desserts, there's certain to be something to please every palette.   Who doesn't like chips with dip?  If you like something a little hotter, start with the jalapenos and finish with the crème brûlée.  And for a simply fun dessert, try the fried ice cream.  That alone will have you coming back month after month.

I'm showing you our beef tacos this week.  They taste even more delicious than they look.  And I could pretty well guarantee that's sangria in the glass too.  Who will be joining us for dinner?

McGill's is open Thursday, Friday and Saturday evenings from 5.00pm until 8.00pm.  Always freshly prepared, our cuisine will have you coming back for more and eagerly anticipating Mexican week each time it rolls around.  Enjoy fine dining in a relaxed and intimate atmosphere.  Give us a call on (902) 681-3225 and let us reserve a table for you.  We are located at 18 Kentucky Court, New Minas. We'd love to have you join us.

Come and enjoy yourself!  ¡Pásatelo bien!

If you said "Italian," you'd be correct!  This feature menu comes out the first week of every month so make sure you mark it on your calendars.  We're all a little sick of winter now, impatiently waiting for spring, and McGill's is offering you a bit of comfort in the form of food this week.

We always have the gnocchi available so if you've been before and had this dish, you can have it either as a main or an appetizer.  It is really, really delicious, and you will be back for it every month.  Mind, I'm thinking if you have the gnocchi as an appetizer then another pasta dish for a main, you are going to be crawling out the door or having a nap before you go.  This week, I'm showing you our Chicken Scaloppini, which is fabulous!

Give us a call today on (902) 681-3225 and let us reserve a table for you.  We are open to serve you three nights a week - Thursday, Friday and Saturday from 5.00pm until 8.00pm.  All of our dishes are freshly prepared, but we can assure you the wait is definitely worth it!  This is relaxed dining in an intimate atmosphere at its very finest.  Find us at 18 Kentucky Court, New Minas.
