Margaritas! Mexican Hat Dance! Mexican Fried Ice Cream! Oh my!

Burrrrr . . . itos!  I'm not talking about the weather either.  Have I given this week's menu away?  You all guessed it, right?  Mexican?  Yup, we're all going to do the Mexican Hat Dance while drinking margaritas this week.  Sounds like a party to me.  We even have a new addition to the menu, McGill's Beef Burritos, which is a must try.  And because it was a mega-success last month, we're bringing the Mexican Fried Ice Cream back this month too.  This is a not-to-be-missed dessert!  The same could also be said for the Chocolate-Ancho Crème Brûlée.  Finish it off with a specialty coffee and we're in heaven!  Oh, but I digress again.  Happens every week!

McGill's is open Thursday, Friday and Saturday evenings from 5.00pm until 8.00pm and we would like to invite you to join us and enjoy a unique Mexican dining experience and atmosphere.  Spicy, but not overly so, and flavourful dishes await you.  You will not be disappointed, I guarantee it.  Always freshly prepared, our cuisine will have you coming back for more and eagerly anticipating Mexican week each time it rolls around.

Enjoy fine dining in a relaxed and intimate atmosphere.  Give us a call on (902) 681-3225 and let us reserve a table for you.  We are located at 18 Kentucky Court, New Minas. We'd love to have you join us.

Cooling temps increases the desire for comfort food

Beginning of October already?!  Where is the year going?  The beginning of a new month means we're bringing our Italian menu to you.  This is our most popular week in the theme rotation.  And with the cooling temperatures and shorter days, we need some comfort and Italian food is just what the doctor ordered.  (Ok, maybe he didn't order that, but I'm sure at least one doctor will indeed be ordering Italian this week.)

We are offering you some fabulous cuisine this week:  for starters, you can choose from bruschetta or soup; for the main course, you have a choice of three rich and creamy pasta dishes; and for dessert (generally what I pick first and work backwards from there), either tiramisu, which is heavenly, or raspberry panna cotta, certain to satisfy your sweet tooth.  And to compliment your meal, I'm certain we have the perfect wine.  This is definitely the week to grab some  comfort and sample some of our Italian dishes available right here in New Minas.  All of our dishes are freshly prepared, but we can assure you the wait is definitely worth it!

Enjoy an Indian feast with us!

Here we are at my favourite time of the month - the Indian menu is here!  Just for me!  (Ok, maybe not.  I know Grandpa enjoys this food too.)  This is exceptional cuisine and eagerly anticipated each month.  There truly is something for everyone, even if you prefer less spicy.  The chicken korma is very mild, the beef madras much hotter.  The mango mousse tart is fantastic too!  This could easily become your favourite menu rotation too.

I'm sure I can convince McGill's to mix us up some sangria.  I really enjoy the red sangria, but I have to admit that they mixed me up some white sangria last week and it was heavenly!  Maybe we can tempt you with a glass of wine or beer?  What about a cocktail?  Or a specialty coffee at the end of your meal?  I've tried it all and can recommend it all.  Oh my, there I am distracted by drink again!

Seriously, you need to visit McGill's this week.  As always, you can join us three nights - Thursday, Friday and Saturday from 5.00pm until 8.00pm.  All our dishes are freshly prepared, but the wait is definitely worth it!  Come in and try some of our Indian cuisine.  You will not be disappointed.  Give us a call on (902) 681-3225 and let us reserve a table for you.  Relaxed dining in an intimate atmosphere.  The patio is still open if you wanted to enjoy an aperitif outside.  You'll find us at 18 Kentucky Court, New Minas.  We'd love to have you join us.

Here is what we have to offer you this week:

Who's ready for Cajun cookin'?

This is my favourite fun week by far - writing the blog is entertaining, finding the perfect image to show you makes me giggle!  I mean, doesn't our fabulous Chef, Daniel Craig (affectionately known as our very own Bond) look fetching here?  You're doing a fine job there, Bond!

You may have guessed by now, but I'll let you in on the secret just in case you haven't.  We are bringing you our Cajun cookin' as it's the fifth week in the month.  It's just fun, fun, fun all the way.  The last time we featured the Cajun menu was May, and I have to say the dishes were superb!  I even tried the frogs' legs.  I swear, if you didn't see what you were eating, you'd think it was chicken.  Who's brave enough to try them?  Both the jambalaya and the gumbo are fantastic with just the right amount of heat.  This time around I'm going to try the fish.

Are you going to be joining us?  I do hope so.  I guarantee the food will be spectacular, the atmosphere cozy and intimate, making for a relaxed dining experience.  Or why not enjoy your evening on the patio and make the most of our quickly disappearing summer nights.  And remember you can enjoy this flavourful cuisine three nights this week - Thursday, Friday and Saturday from 5.00pm until 8.00pm.  All our dishes are freshly prepared, but the wait is so worth it!

You don't want to miss your opportunity to try some Cajun cooking.  Your next chance won't roll around again until November.  Give us a call on (902) 681-3225 and let us reserve a table for you.  Reservations are strongly encouraged.  You'll find us at 18 Kentucky Court, New Minas.  We'd love to have you join us.
