In a couple of days, it's August already!  Not only is the summer quickly passing, but the start of a new month welcomes back our Italian-themed menu.  Simply delicious comfort food!  And with any kind of luck, the temperatures and weather will hold out, enabling you to enjoy your meal on our patio.  What a perfect way to pass a relaxing evening with friends and family!  Toss in a pitcher of sangria, a few beers or cocktails, a bottle of wine, and your evening is complete.  McGill's has definitely got you covered on all counts.

Appetizer:

Bruschetta $11
Grilled olive oil-brushed Italian bread topped with fresh tomato, garlic, basil and olive oil and Parmigianino cheese

Caprese Salad $11 
Sliced roma tomatoes with fresh mozzarella and basil drizzled with extra-virgin olive oil and a balsamic reduction

Feature:
 
Gnocchi di Formaggio $18
Gorgonzola, Romano and Swiss cheese blended together for a very rich cheese sauce, tossed with fresh gnocchi.  Topped with grated Parmesan cheese (Also available as an appetizer $11)

Main Course:

Cappallacci con la zucca $15
Tiramisu
House-made ravioli filled with roasted butternut squash and ricotta cheese.  Finished in sweet butter with fresh sage

Lobster Risotto $24  
Creamy Arborio rice accented with succulent local lobster, Asiago cheese and chives . . . absolutely delicious!

Dessert:

Tiramisu $8
House-made lady finger biscuits drizzled in espresso and amaretto liqueur, layered with rich zabaglione Marsala cream.  Topped with whipped cream and sprinkled in cocoa powder

A Taste of India!

The title gave it away!  This week's theme menu at McGill's is Indian, which is my favourite theme!  The great thing about these dishes is if you prefer your meal a little hotter, a little spicier, than mild or even medium, you can ask your server to get the kitchen to kick it up a little for you.

McGill's is fully licensed with Garrison beer on tap, bottled beer and an excellent selection of wines.  Or try a cocktail.  Finish off your meal with an tasty specialty coffee.

Fried potato cakes with garam masala.  Served with a sweet chili sauce

Fried Prawns $13
Tiger shrimp marinated in Indian spices and tamarind, battered and fried.  Served on top of baby greens with Makhni sauce

Main Course:

Chicken Korma $17
A full-flavoured and mildly-spiced curry with tender chicken morsels and roasted cauliflower. Served with pilau rice

Beef Madras $19

Diced beef shoulder simmered in our own hot madras curry.  Served with pilau rice and a cool raita sauce

Dessert:

Mango Mousse Tart $8
Heavy cream folded into a sweet mango pureé and served in a flaky tart shell.  Served with fresh fruit and crème anglaise

Gulab Jamun  $8
Small spongy cake balls simmered and soaked in a rich rose water and cardamom-infused syrup.  Served warm

It's Mediterranean week at McGill's!

And we have the temperatures to match!  We are bringing you cuisine to make you feel that you are indeed somewhere exotic this week.  That's right, we're offering you the Mediterranean menu and, as mentioned before, this is such a healthy diet to follow and is indeed make-you-feel-good food. 


The weather is perfect for enjoying your evening meal on our patio with a few drinks.    With an excellent wine list, bottled beer and Garrison's beer on tap, McGill's is set to make your dining experience a memorable and enjoyable one.  Ask one of our waitstaff for a cocktail.  Or a specialty coffee, which ends a fantastic meal quite nicely.

Caldo Verde $9 
Portuguese soup of kale, potatoes and smoked sausage.  Served with a side of hot sauce

Dolmades $11
Short-grain rice and fresh herbs wrapped in tender grape leaves and simmered gently in a flavourful chicken broth.  Served with tzatziki

Main Course:

McGill's Mezze Platter $17
A sampling of spanakopita, tabouli, roasted red pepper hummus, tzatziki, kalamata olives, feta cheese and warm pita

Pan-Seared Chilean Sea Bass $32
Pan-seared Chilean sea bass rubbed with olive oil and topped with a tomato and olive salad.  Presented with a gathering of seasonal vegetables and couscous 

White Chocolate Bavarian Mousse
Dessert:

White Chocolate Bavarian Mousse $8
Creamy white chocolate infused with hazelnut liqueur, folded together with whipped cream.  Served with a Frangelico tuile 

Baklava $8
Crisp layers of butter-drenched phyllo pastry with spices and chopped pecans; then, when still warm, soaked in a honey-lemon syrup. Presented with a dollop of whipped cream
